The key to National Anesthesia's success is finding out as much as we can about your staff and facility ahead of time. The first step in this process is to obtain a thorough client profile. One of our specially-trained Account Managers will speak with you to gather detailed information about the size of your facility, number of ORs, current staffing, types of procedures, average caseload, etc.
The client profile is a valuable tool that our Account Managers use to evaluate your specific needs and determine how National Anesthesia can best meet them. Our goal is to provide quality resources, both efficiently and in a cost-effective manner.
When you call National Anesthesia for coverage, we will fax or email you a contract to review and sign. You will be assigned a Account Manager who will immediately begin searching for the best candidate to fill your needs.
After the client contract has been signed and returned to National Anesthesia, your Account Manager will begin searching for a qualified candidate to fill your needs. The candidate's credentials (CV/resume, licensure and references) are presented to you for approval.
NOTE: No candidate is presented without his or her prior authorization and availability information.
When a suitable candidate has been found and accepted, you will be sent an Assignment Confirmation document to sign. The Assignment Confirmation pertains to a specific assignment. It details the provider, coverage dates, travel/lodging information, salary and any other special needs for that assignment.
We encourage you to contact your medical staff office and have them provide National Anesthesia with the necessary paperwork to obtain staff privileges at your facility. Your Account Manager will ensure that the completed application and other paperwork are returned in a timely fashion.
Please notify your Account Manager of any modifications that need to be made. Whether the change is in provider coverage dates or a need for additional providers, National Anesthesia will strive to accommodate your requests. The more notice you can provide for your Account Manager, the easier it will be to make the appropriate change.
National Anesthesia understands that situations and needs change. If this occurs, please contact your Account Manager immediately, as we require a 30-day notice of termination. Once a provider commits to your assignment, he or she stops pursuing other opportunities for that time period. This notice allows us time to find another assignment for the Anesthesiologist or Nurse Anesthetists.
National Anesthesia understands the importance of a "Great First Day!" The assignment gets off to a good start when the Anesthesiologist or Nurse Anesthetist is greeted in a friendly manner by your entire team. Being familiar with your facility is also a great help. Suggested areas of orientation are:

• Layout of facility
• Location of Anesthesia Department
• Phone number and contact person
• Equipment
• Projected caseload
• Documentation/charting
• Specific OR procedures
You have the option to make and pay for travel and lodging; or as part of our service, National Anesthesia can make these arrangements for you. Should National Anesthesia make the arrangements, you will only be billed for the actual costs incurred. If you arrange for local lodging, please think about: cleanliness, saftey, comfort, noise level, proximity to hospital or surgical facility and amenities for long-term assignments. (e.g. kitchenette with refrigerator & microwave)
